Are you a big fan of Harry Potter, Tolkien, or Games of Thrones? I am, so we have that in common!
It was these films and books that inspired me to create a series of magical creatures to wear on my hands: Magical Creatures.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n

\n

That's why you'll find there, first of all, the Stag, Harry's magnificent patronus; then, Ghost, Jon's companion in Game of Thrones; third, the Phoenix (do I need to introduce the famous Order?) and finally, the latest, Hedwig, the famous winged friend from the young magician's saga.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

There will be one more pattern for you to discover!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

A total of five magical creature bosses.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n

Magical Creatures: The Deer<\/em><\/h3>\n\n\n\n

The Deer<\/strong><\/a><\/figcaption><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n

This very first boss represents the mythical Patronus that we invoke to protect ourselves from evil forces (if you want to know more, I recommend the Harry Potter wiki).<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n

It must be recognized that it is probably one of the most beautiful creatures in the Harry Potter saga.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Construction<\/em><\/h4>\n\n\n\n

This is a pair of mittens starting with a 2x2 ribbing.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Thanks to this tutorial<\/a> (here these are 2\u00d72 ribs so you have to repeat the steps to obtain the required number of purl and knit stitches but the principle is the same), the ribbing is very flexible.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Next, you will refer to the jacquard chart which includes the increases to form the thumb.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

As soon as the thumb gusset is knitted, you will put the stitches on hold and continue the pattern.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Finally, you will finish with a ribbed edge.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Magical Creatures: The Wolf<\/em><\/h3>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n

Next, let's move on to the second boss that immerses you in the world of Games of Thrones with Ghost, Jon Snow's white wolf<\/em>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Wolf<\/a><\/strong><\/figcaption><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n

The construction is completely identical to the previous pattern except that the dimensions here are 29 cm in height and 21 cm in palm circumference.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Magical Creatures: The Phoenix<\/em><\/h3>\n\n\n\n

The third boss takes you back to the world of Harry Potter with Fawkes,<\/a> Albus Dumbledore's phoenix.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Without a doubt, it is this magical creature that inspired me to create this pair of multicolored mittens.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Phoenix<\/a><\/figcaption><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n

Once again, the construction is identical; except that I used a multi-colored yarn from Lang, the Mille Colori Lace Luxe: color and glitter.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

If you want to have two completely identical mittens, I advise you to take two balls of yarn and choose the color section with which you will start the mittens.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Magical Creatures: The Snow Owl<\/em><\/h3>\n\n\n\n

And this is Hedwig, Harry's faithful winged companion who lost her life in the book Deathly Hallows.<\/em>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

A little childhood memory<\/em><\/h4>\n\n\n\n

I have a real fascination with birds of prey, especially owls.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

I remember as a little girl taking in a little owl that had been injured.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In the absence of a rehabilitation center, we put her in the greenhouse, away from predators. And I regularly brought her food, even if it meant taking the mice killed by our cats.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\"Chouette<\/figure>\n\n\n\n

One day, I found the box empty. In reality, I'll never know if it left on its own or if it died and my grandparents hid it from me.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

To be honest, today, I wouldn't keep it, I would call on CREAVES, a rehabilitation center for birds (see the link what to do with an injured bird?<\/em><\/a>)<\/p>\n\n\n\n

What yarns did I use for these patterns?<\/em><\/h3>\n\n\n\n

For all these patterns, I used sock yarn from Long Yarns<\/a> : the Lang Jawoll united at least in background color as well as the Jawoll Twin or the Mille Colori Lace Luxe.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
