It's almost Christmas! Yes, I know, it's only the end of October... but as a good knitter, it's time to think about knitted Christmas gifts, right?<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Here is a small selection of patterns classified by category, for you, whether you are a beginner or not.<\/p>\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n

Ten Knitted Christmas Gift Ideas for Your Loved Ones<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

1. What is worn around the neck (that is not a shawl)<\/h5>\n\n\n\n

Unfortunately, I can't give you a list of what I prefer in this category, so I had to make some choices...<\/p>\n\n\n\n

1.1. 4 Seasons Cowl Collection<\/h6>\n\n\n\n

This collection was created in 2019 to celebrate the seasons.
I wanted to play with jacquard to create original patterns.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

These are not patterns for beginner knitters, but if you want to try jacquard and you're not afraid of anything, you can go for it!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The patterns are available as a collection on Ravelry <\/a>but also available for purchase alone on Ravelry, Lovecrafts<\/a> and soon Makerist <\/a>(I'm slowly filling my Makerist store).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

1.2. An unusual pass \u2013 The Wave Cowl<\/h6>\n\n\n\n

I knitted this one during lockdown.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

It is not mine but Olga Buraya-Kefelian's, a knitwear designer who masters and explores 3D shapes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

I had a lot of fun knitting it (less so grafting it, but that's not because of the pattern but the technique... me and hand sewing, that's two).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

If you want to take a look at my Ravelry project<\/a>, you will see that it is knitted flat and that the collar is constructed, wave by wave and that it is finished by joining the collar in the round.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

2. Shawls<\/h5>\n\n\n\n

If you have some time to knit and the person you are giving this gift to is "Knit Worthy" (in French: worth knitting for them because they know the value of a knitted gift), I recommend making a shawl.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

It's the perfect project that lets you have fun knitting while giving something of value to someone you care about.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

2.1. Fawkes<\/h6>\n\n\n\n

I had to make a choice in my patterns. Indeed, shawls are one of the things I have created the most.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

So here is my very latest, Fawkes, whose construction I will detail for you. here on the blog<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This is a shawl I've been wanting to make for a long time.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Every time I see it, I think of a fireplace, a wood fire and above all I love the bubbles at the bottom of the shawl... <\/p>\n\n\n\n

But every time I tell myself that I'm going to knit it, I either don't have the right wool or the one that I like, or I don't have the time...<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Maybe you'll find time to knit it for someone you care about?<\/p>\n\n\n\n

3. A gift to give for the hands<\/h5>\n\n\n\n

This pattern is made for a Harry Potter fan.
I thought of the Patronus when creating it.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

But it can also be for a nature lover. In our house, the deer rules the woods, and these are my daughters' favorite pair of mittens.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

3.1. Flaming Mittens<\/h6>\n\n\n\n

If jacquard scares you or you don't feel expert enough to get started, here's another suggestion: The Flaming Mittens.<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n

The pattern for these mittens is created using a combination of twisted stitches, yarn overs, and decreases. A very attractive result for a pattern that's not that difficult to make.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This is a pattern I released a few years ago for Passion Tricot magazine. If you're lucky enough to get your hands on issue #8, you'll find the pattern there. But as with the rest, you can also find it on Ravelry<\/a>, Lovecrafts<\/a> And Makerist<\/a> Soon.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

4. For the feet<\/h5>\n\n\n\n
4.1. Space Socks, socks for beginners<\/h6>\n\n\n\n

Here is a pattern that was created especially for sock beginners.
This is a pattern that begins at the toe, and then knits the heel afterward. Basically, you knit a tube and then place the heel.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

These are the socks I wear the most... and what's more, they don't match (so I match my children who have the annoying habit of wearing mismatched socks!)<\/p>\n\n\n\n

4.2. Tipsy Toe Socks<\/h6>\n\n\n\n

Obviously, I can't miss telling you about the MKAL that I'm organizing for the Advent period and which could be a perfect Christmas present... but I've already told you about it at length here.<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Last year, I got into the habit of knitting tea towels in mosaic stitch. I think I'll do the same again this year... and this time, I'll probably give some to my mom \ud83d\ude42<\/p>\n\n\n\n

I also made some purchases in anticipation...<\/p>\n\n\n\n

So here's a very small collection focused solely on accessories. Nothing's stopping you from knitting a sweater, but obviously that's much more time-consuming.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
