Deauville – bags and glasses case (English)

Description

Deauville bags are timeless and elegant. You can even add a glasses case!
Two versions are available: a small one to accompany you on your evenings out, and a large one to hold all your knitting gear!
You can also choose whether or not to embroider the bags and glasses case, simply by choosing the appropriate chart!

Yarn

You need a sport / DK plant based yarn to knit this bag.

I used for my sample Natissea Pernelle (100% hemp) 190 m / 100g.

• Small bag: color écru approx. 380 m
• Big bag: color caramel approx. 540 m
• Glasses cas: color écru approx. 100 m

Gauge

23 sts / 32 rows in stockinette st per 10 cm/4” flat after blocking

Notions

• 2 pairs of circ. needles 2.75 mm
• A pair of circ. needles 3.25 mm
• Tapestry needle
• 16 markers (or more if needed)
• Scissors
• Vliesline Style-VIl (for bag’s bottom)
• Vliesline Fusible Interlining H 250 (for the lining ‘s bottom)
• Bizonne fabric 55% linen, 45% cotton 290 g / m² for lining
• 3 cm Leatherette strap, approx. 40 cm (1 m) long (bags)
• 10 cm click clack metal clasp (case)

Finished Chest Measurements

Bags: Approx. 19 (29) cm diameter for 23 (30) cm height
Case: Approx. 10 cm long for 17.5 cm height

Construction

This bag is knitted starting with the bottom of the bag. You will knit two bottoms which you will assemble to make the body of the bag. Finish with a wide jersey band, which you sew onto the lining of the bag.
The pattern includes a version without embroidery and a version with embroidery. Choose the chart according to your preference.
