Description

La Primavera is a stranded colorwork shawl. Despite its apparent complexity, LA PRIMAVERA is accessible to any knitter who has already made colorwork in the round!
The sides are in garter and stockinette stitch, embellished with a few bobbles and mosaic knitting.

Yarn

You need a fingering yarn to knit this shawl.

I used for my sample Vulcan Yarn Alpaca Silk Linen (50% baby alpaga, 25% linen, 25% silk) 400 m / 100 g
CC1: color Corail approx. 668 m
CC2: color Naturel approx. 228 m

Gauge

26 sts / 33 rows in Stockinette St per 10 cm/4” after blocking

Notions

  • 3.5 mm (US 4) 100 cm (40″) circ needles (2 pairs)
  • 3.75 mm (US 5) 100 cm (40″) circ needles if needed for stranded colorwork
  • Tapestry needle
  • 4 Stitch markers if needed
  • A 3.5 mm crochet hook
  • 2 Removable Markers to place Wings Sts on hold

Construction

This shawl is worked in the round from the centre. You will then knit each wings of the shawl separately and then pick up all the stitches along the squares and wings sides to create the final edge.
