Yarn

You need a sock yarn to knit these socks and a fingering yarn held in double to embroider them.

I used WYS Signature (75 % wool including 35% BFL, 25% nylon) 400 m / 100 g and Peregrine for the embroidery
WYS Signature (75 % wool including 35% BFL, 25% nylon) 400 m / 100 g color Milk Bottle approx. 200 [220, 240, 275] m
Embroidery: CLK Peregrine (100% Est-A-Laine Merino) 400 m / 100 g approx. 10 m color Lichen

Gauge

30 sts / 40 rds in stockinette st

Notions

30 cm (12’’) 2.5 mm (US1½) circ needle (or 5 DPN’s)
30 cm (12’’) 2.75 mm (US2) circ needle (or 5 DPN’s)
Third needle in the same size for grafting
Tapestry needle
2 Stitch Markers
Scrap yarn for the heel

XS:34-36 (2-4.5), S: 36-38 (4.5-6.5), M: 38-40 (6.5-8),  L: 41-43 (8.5-10)

Construction

These ankle socks are toe up constructed.
The heel is added later once the leg is finished (afterthought heel).
To best choose your sock, select according to the circumference of foot’s sole and ankle.
The length of the foot and the leg are totally adaptable.
The socks are worn with a negative ease of 1.5 to 2.5 cm (1/2 to 1’’).
