You will often find this stitch in lace or when there is a need for a little decoration.

This stitch can be done in different ways depending on the result you want to achieve: a big or small bobble, or something quite compact or more elongated.

How to make bobbles?

First method

1. On the right side of the work, knit to the place where you want to make a bobble.

2. Make a bobble as follows: knit the next stitch but do not drop it from the needle, *yarn over, then knit a stitch in the same stitch* (repeat from * to * once, twice or three times etc.) - dIn this case, you will repeat two more times and you will get 7 stitches. Bobbles are often made with 7 stitches, but sometimes they can be made with more or fewer stitches.

3. Insert your left needle from left to right and pull the yarn through the stitches.

4. You get a nope.

Second method

1. On the right side of the work, knit to the place where you want to make a bobble.

2. Place the next stitch on a hook.

3. Create 7 stitches on your hook (as you did with the needle method above)

4. Yarn over the hook, pull the yarn through 5 stitches, you have 3 stitches left on your hook.

5. Yarn over the hook, pull the yarn through 3 stitches, you have 1 stitch left on your hook.

6. Put this stitch on your right needle.

7. You get a nope.
