The Angelina sweater is a DK sweater with a circular yoke.
You will need a pullover quantity of DK weight yarn to knit this sweater or a pullover quantity of fingering and lace weight yarn to knit this sweater in the fashionable blend: merino and mohair and silk.
The pattern is available on Ravelry, on Lovecrafts and on Makerist
Angelina, a lace sweater
1. Angelina's story, this elegant sweater
As you know, last year I created the sweater Bobbles for my daughter.
She was so won over by this sweater that she asked me for another one, dark and plain.
I had in stock a quantity of sweaters Lang Yarns Angelina for a few months in a dark blue, a little marvel of softness, a silk thread with blown merino.
This is how Angelina was born.

2. The construction of this sweater
This is a sweater knitted from the top down, starting with about fifteen rows of 1*1 ribbing in a circular yoke*. It is then embellished with a lace pattern that flares out throughout the yoke.
Once this part is finished, you will tackle the body which is knitted in a lace pattern.
You will finish the body with a large ribbing in 1*1 ribbing.
The sleeves are then taken up and finished with the same pattern as for the body and also finished with 1*1 ribbing.
*If you want to know a little more about circular inserts, I posted a video on YouTube about a year ago.
3. What level should I knit Angelina for?
This pattern is not complicated to knit and has been specially designed for beginners or comfort knitters (and others too!).
The most difficult points you might encounter are:
- to follow the two diagrams which are essential in the pattern (they are in diagram form but also in the form of written explanations).
4. Where to buy the pattern?
The pattern is for sale on the site Ravelry in French and English, available for immediate download. It is also available on the website Lovecrafts and on Makerist.
5. Sizes available for this stylish sweater
Sizes
1 [2, 3] [4, 5] [6, 7, 8]
The pattern is therefore available from 95 cm to 155 cm chest measurement (finished knitting) and the expected ease is 15 to 20 cm.
To understand the ease, I suggest you watch the video below:
It can be worn with more or less ease (in the photos shown, the ease is 15 cm for a size 3).
6. The wool and materials needed to knit this sweater
Suggested yarn is Lang Yarns Angelina 150m / 50g (60% silk, 40% merino) 1100 (1153, 1208) (1329, 1437) (1669, 1727, 1885)m or 8 (8, 9) (9, 10) (12, 12, 13) balls color 34.
You can of course use another composition such as twisted merino, a cotton and acrylic blend like Scheepjes Stone Washed. But you can also consider doubling a merino fingering yarn with a mohair and silk lace yarn or alpaca.
The necessary equipment is as follows:
- 3.5 mm circ. needle 100cm long
- 3.75 mm circ. needle 100cm long
- 5 double-pointed needles 3.5 mm for small circumferences (sleeves or collar) if necessary.
- 5 double-pointed needles 3.75 mm for small circumferences (sleeves or collar) if necessary.
- 1 tapestry needle
- 20 (21, 22) (23, 25) (26, 27, 29) markers if necessary.
7. Why Angelina?
Finally, why did you name her Angelina?
I don't think you have to be a rocket scientist to know where this pattern's name comes from! It's simply the name of the yarn, which I think suits the pattern well.
I hope you'll love this sweater and that this article will make you want to knit it.
