Description

Let’s rediscover together the magic of plants in winter

SIZE

The size and shape of the shawl are part of the mystery.
This will be a shawl large enough to cover the shoulders of most knitters.

SUGGESTED THREAD

Weight: DK or a thick fingering or sport yarn with a corresponding gauge
Composition: The choice of the yarn was a blend of linen and cotton, 95% linen – 5 % cotton (Linaé de Natissea)
If you don't want to use this yarn, I recommend using a DK or fingering yarn containing a little plant fiber or silk to achieve a certain fluidity.
Try to avoid any yarn that contains too much halo (like yarns containing a lot of mohair or alpaca for example).

Quantity of thread

Approximately 705 m in total

  • CP: 570 m
  • CC1: 60 m
  • CC2, CC2, CC3: 25 m

CC1 is a color in the same color range as CP (e.g., dark green and light green, beige and brown).

The other three colors are complementary colors.

Here you'll find the color palettes chosen for Natissea's Winter Garden Kits. Use them as inspiration to create your own. You'll also find kits here: Winter Garden Kit

NEEDLES AND MATERIALS

  • 1 pair of 3.5 mm circular needles if you are knitting with the original yarn (plant fiber often requires smaller needles).
If you choose an animal-based yarn, use the appropriate needles to obtain the recommended gauge, otherwise the size of the shawl will be affected as well as the quantity of yarn needed.
  • 1 3.5 mm hook, 1 wool needle
  • About twenty markers
  • Chenille needle type embroidery needle (for fingering weight thread)
  • Solufix embroidery paper (if necessary), scissors

RULES & INFORMATION

You will receive, starting November 27th and every Monday, the weekly clue either on Ravelry (be sure to check your library in this case) or by email.
You will be able to participate in the event which will take place on Discord and/or on Ravelry.
At the end of each week, a draw will be held. Prizes (all different) will be awarded based on photos shared on the various social media platforms where the MKAL event is taking place.

SHARING ON SOCIAL NETWORKS

If you would like to participate and share your photos on Discord, Ravelry, Instagram, etc., we ask that you share these photos in the dedicated threads for the discussion forums and use the official KAL image as the first photo on Instagram (in the case of a carousel) to prevent people participating in the KAL from seeing the clue revealed before they have had the chance to start knitting it.
The official KAL hashtag is #kaljardindhiver

You will find the links to the discussion groups in the introduction that will be provided when you purchase the pattern.
