The Ombelle shawl The Ombelle shawl is a pretty crescent shawl in brioche knitting !
It was inspired by my son's botany lessons on umbellifers.

Yarn

You will need two types of yarn: fingering for the main color or fingering or lace for the contrasting color.

I used Peregrine (100% Est-A-Laine Merino) 388 m / 100 g and Maugerie Mohair de Chambord (80% mohair / 20% silk) 200 m / 100 g to knit it

CC1: CLK Peregrine (100% Est-A-Laine Merino) 388 m / 100 g approx. 510 m
CC2: Les Mohairs de Chambord Maugerie (80% mohair, 20% silk) 200 m / 50 g approx. 460 m

Gauge

16 stitches / 22 rows in brioche stitch for 10 cm after blocking

Notions

  • 4mm circ. needle 100cm long
  • 5mm circ. needle 100cm long
  • 1 tapestry needle
  • markers if needed

Top border: 163 cm wide
Depth: 47 cm

Construction

This shawl is knitted from a garter stitch cast-on and features increases along the edges but also in sections to give it a crescent shape.
