Description

Reims socks are Japanese lace socks knitted toe-up. They are designed with an ergonomic heel for a snug fit and they are knitted with two yarns for comfort.

Yarn

You need two yarns to knit these socks, a sock yarn and a mohair lace yarn.

Fingering: Lang Yarns Alpaca Soxx 4 ply (70% superfine alpaca, 30% nylon) 390 m / 100 g color 0009 approximately 234 (273, 312, 351) m
Lace: Lang Yarn Lace Lamé (55% mohair (Superkid), 30% silk, 8% Polyester, 7% Polyamide) 310 m / 25 g color 0048 approximately 235 (260, 305, 347) m

Gauge

30 stitches / 35 rounds in stockinette stitch for 10 cm after blocking the two yarns knitted together

Notions

2.75mm circ. needles or 3 Addi Crazy Trio needles or any other needles suitable for knitting small circumferences in the round

1 tapestry needle

For the foot circumferences of
1: 20-21 / 2: 21.5-22.5 / 3: 23-24 / 4: 24-25cm

Construction

These socks are constructed toe-up
The heel is worked after the sole and before the leg using German Short Rows and heel flap method.
To best choose your sock size, select according to the circumference of foot’s sole.
The length of the foot and the leg are fully adjustable. For the leg, simply repeat shaft pattern 1 as many times as necessary.
Socks are worn with a negative ease of 1.5 to 2.5 cm.
