How to make decorative tassels

Do you want to embellish or add a little something extra to a shawl, bag, or scarf?

Here is a tutorial on how to make tassels with knitting yarn.

This technique is very easy.

First, choose the yarn you want to use: cotton, wool, etc.

Then cut a piece of cardboard to the height you want (I admit that I don't laziness ease, I used my smartphone as a template!)

If you want to make an acorn "independent" of the piece to which you want to attach it, proceed as follows:

• Count the number of turns (for example 10)
• Insert a thread above the cardboard and make a double knot (to create the tassel attachment
• Remove the cardboard and wrap a wire around the vertical strands to form the head of the acorn (as in the video)
• Once this is done, cut at the base and level it off.

If you want to make an acorn that is attached to the piece you want to attach it to, do the following (as in the video):

• Wrap the wire around the cardboard (the number of turns doesn't matter here)
• Cut the wires at the base, you get a series of strands of equal length
• Take a certain number of strands (here 10)
• Insert them into the hook at the desired level - here in the edge of the shawl (as in the video)
• Take one strand and wrap it around the vertical strands, close with a double knot
• Do the same for the other acorns
• Then trim them so they are all the same length.
