Description

The Primavera is a stranded colorwork shawl. Despite its apparent complexity, LA PRIMAVERA is accessible to any knitter who has already made colorwork in the round!
The sides are in garter and stockinette stitch, embellished with a few bobbles and mosaic knitting.

Yarn

You will need fingering yarn to knit it.

I used there Vulcan Yarn Alpaca Silk Linen (50% baby alpaca, 25% linen, 25% silk) 400 m / 100 g
CC1: Coral color approximately 668 m
CC2: Natural color approximately 228 m

Gauge

26 stitches / 33 rows in stockinette stitch for 10 cm after blocking

Notions

  • 2 3.5mm circ. needles 100cm long
  • 3.75 mm (US 5) 100 cm (40") circ needles if needed for stranded colorwork
  • 1 tapestry needle
  • 4 markers if necessary
  • 1 hook 3.5 mm
  • 2 Removable Markers to place Wings Sts on hold

Construction

This shawl is worked in the round from the centre. You will then knit each wings of the shawl separately and then pick up all the stitches along the squares and wings sides to create the final edge.
